After feeling a bit cheated that the straw hat and brocade slippers are included with Felicity's summer dress, I decided to see what they cost as replacement parts. I also inquired about the mob cap for the school outfit, which I have apparently lost. (I don't remember ever having it.)

I recieved a very nice email-
Thank you for your e-mail to inquire about replacement parts for
Felicity. The mop cap (ESO-02) is available for $3.00. The straw hat
(EAOB-01) is available for $17.00. The slippers (EAOB-02) are $6.00.
These prices do not include shipping and handling, or sales tax where
applicable. Please call us at 1-800-845-0005 to order these items as
replacement parts are not available for purchase online. To save on
shipping charges, you may wish to wait until you place another order and
add the item at that time.

Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance,
please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Sincerely,

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">within 6 hours of sending my question. I find the replacement price for the straw hat to be outrageous (although I feel better about paying $14 for the set.) and the mob cap to be appropriate.

I had previously recieved a free replacement for a defective Kit's Scottie Dog Pin, which cost $3 if ordered.

    $17 for the hat????
Are you sure it is straw? Sure sounds like gold?!
I was going to get it, but I think I will just get Lissie's yellow dress insted.
That is only if I like it when I touch it... I am iffy about the latest releases.

Overall, I am ecstatic they are combining hats and shoes into the outfits.

I've had the Summer Dress for over 10 years and just now got the hat/shoes because of the expense. $28 for the new tea dress that comes with the hat/shoes is a lot better than what used to be a combined $40 for the summer dress/hat/shoes.

I agree- my dolls always went hat-less until I made afew bonnets because I couldn't justify the cost! Including the hats makes it nicer, I think, because then my dolls are in style, for less!

I just hope the dress quality doesn't sink too much in order to compensate . . . .

Wow, are you sure that's not a typo in their email? The original set (according to Meg's site) only retailed for $18 for both the slippers and the hat...

I doubt it is a typo.
Replacement parts have always been more expensive than buying them together as the set- because they have to split sets to get them and they have to go out of their way to find individual pieces in the warehouse.

And the original set was $18- I bought it last week at 10% off because of a code.

Is it just me or does the summer hat look much smaller now? The brim looks at least 1 inch smaller.

    Am I just seeing things?

I looked at an old picture on Kurt's site and the new one on AG. I really couldn't tell if it looked smaller, but the ribbons are at a different angle to her head, so it must be.

Probably saves they a few pennies per hat, and a lot over all.

The new picture is no where near as cute as the old one, thats for sure. She's just standing straight up. I like how they used to do "action shots"
